What does a health coaching session look like?

Each session typically lasts around 25 minutes held over the phone or a video call and is focused on addressing the specific struggles and barriers that are holding you back from achieving your health goals.

During these sessions, we can cover a wide range of topics depending on your needs.

For example, we might dive into practical strategies for meal planning or organization. Alternatively, we could explore the emotional reasons behind nighttime overeating.

Additionally, health coaching sessions may include deep breathing or meditation to help you tune into your body and make decisions that align with your health goals.

The beauty of health coaching is that it's highly flexible and tailored to your unique needs and preferences, always guided by your goals and what you want to work on.

 FAQs

  • I do not have you follow a certain diet or way of eating. I do encourage eating lots of minimally processed foods, vegetables, and making sure you are getting enough protein. If you follow a certain way of eating (like vegan or keto), you are welcome to continue to eat in a way that is working for you. There are no strict rules. People lose weight following all different diets and each person is different with what works for them.

  • No, a lot of times we can create specific habits to make changes in your nutrition without having to track everything. Sometimes at the start, we may journal what you are eating for a few days to get a baseline. This can be handwritten or tracked on the phone. I do have some clients that like to track and log their food, so if it is helpful you may continue. Some clients also find using hand portions a great way to know what they are eating without being obsessive.

  • The three main workouts to choose from are strength training (with hand weights, body weight, or therabands), yoga, and high intensity interval training (HIIT). Cardio may also be added in, but is not the main focus. We will work together to design an exercise program that you want to do.

  • We start right where you are. So that may just be adding movement and walking to start with. Then we might add in 5-10 minutes of strength training and eventually work up to more. My goal is to find the just right challenge for you, so you keep coming back to exercise.

  • Most of the time the answer is YES. If you are released from your doctor to move and to exercise, we can start within your limits. For example, if you can’t stand, we can create a program around sitting. Also if you have more of an old injury generally adding in gradual movement and exercise can help tissues to heal and your body to feel better. When you have chronic pain and you don’t exercise, muscles get tighter, you get weaker, and it can actually increase your pain. We can discuss any concerns and specific injuries on a free call or you can send me a message.

  • No, this is a total body wellness program. So not only do we focus on weight loss, but also long term health. We focus on: nutrition to fuel your body and make it work better, stress reduction, changing thoughts that are impacting your health, and sleep & recovery.

  • Getting on a free Wellness Breakthrough call is a great way to start. If I don’t think you are great a fit or I can’t help you, I will let you know. But if you are willing to follow the process, make some changes and stay consistent, your body will start changing. My clients are my first priority and I will help guide you along the process.

  • Within 7 days if you don’t think this is a good fit for you, you can be refunded back your money minus a processing fee and minus $50 for any live session that has taken place.

  • I get it! I remember paying $500/month for my daughter to do competitive tumbling when she was little, but I would have struggled to spend that much on myself & my health. I have definitely reframed the way I think about spending money on my health, especially once I started having some autoimmune issues. I can’t tell you how to spend your money, but I do think we have to invest in our health because it affects our whole life.

  • If you have a supportive coach, you will find that you are able to do so much more for your health then you can do on your own. When you get clear on exactly what you need to do and stop wasting time on things that are not helping, you will see that time becomes less of a struggle. As a mom of 4, I try to keep things simple & effective. Getting on a free call will help me to decide if you will be a good fit or if it is truly not a good time.
